"Girl with icecream" is light installation designed by Aleksandra Stratimirović. It is close range a collection of more then a thousand small medical glass containers filled with different coloured liquids, in a sterile laboratory framework illuminated with a fluorescent backlight. Dimension of installation is 2 x 3 m and number 4,500 thousand medical glass bottles. When taking a couple of steps back the vivid image of a girl appears. She is standing in a green park under a blue sky holding an icecream.
The works is the winner of the first prize of the Targetti Light Art Award, announced on the Arte Fiera in Bologna in January 2008. The work was part of the Fondazione Targetti Light Art Collection, placed in the Villa La Sfacciata, Florence. In the period from 28. may till 13.jun, installation was part of light festival Svetlobna gverila , at Vžigalica gallery in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Aleksandra Stratimirović Daggfeldt (1968, Belgrade/Stockholm) is an artists and light designer and a representative of the Lighting Detectives in Belgrade. She had realized a number of site specific artistic projects; this year, she is creating an installation for the city prison. She is a co-founder of the Lighting Guerilla and the Festival of Light, a premiere of which will take place in Belgrade on September 8th. For her work she received a number of awards and acknowledgements.
